Calling all citizens
I am writing this today to get everyone’s attention. I want everyone to think back to their childhood and remember all of the small businesses through their life that have come and gone because of all of the massive corporations that have come out and stolen their ideas or their dreams!
I know that we have been taught to be smart shoppers and to make our money go further but during this we have lost our humanity and our citizenship. They have manipulated us into becoming a throw away society and always wanting the latest greatest thing and they sell it to us at dirt cheap prices because it’s junk and it will be thrown away in most cases before or right at the end of the warranty period. How many of you can remember your parents’ products lasting most of your childhood at least if not longer? This was because of a couple of reasons, one because that’s the way they were taught to choose things and two because it was made in America or by a proud craftsman (person).
Sometimes I can’t believe the products that people put out or are willing to accept just so they can either make a dollar or save a dollar don’t get me wrong. I want and need to do both of those things myself but not at the expense of my fellow man or woman. I am willing to spend a little more to help the little guy and get a quality product. If you are a person that has a small business that puts out an inferior product purposely and doesn’t choose to change, I can’t blame anyone for not helping you but if you are someone doing everything you can to survive, want to be or want to help others do the same Then that is what we are all about.
I know That some of you may work for these huge companies and that’s ok but that doesn’t mean you can’t help the little guys until we all become bigger guys/girls that can give you a place in our company or your own.
Don’t be fooled by their marketing campaigns that give you their feel good songs,show you programs that they are offering to make your business better or tell you that we are in this together. It’s all just a ploy to make sure they get control over your business or industry until they come out with their own version of what you are doing and don’t need you anymore. We are just like you and if the pandemic has shown us anything it is you and I are not on an equal playing field with the top one percent!
What I am asking you to do is open up your eyes and mind to think about what you are doing and what is really going on! Think about it, if there is a top one percent that makes most of the money and has most of the control, do you really want to be one of the ones that gives them your money instead of making them give you theirs? You should think about every dollar you spend or click you make even if you think it doesn’t matter because they are not charging you dollars upfront. It does matter because they are selling your information and making it easier for the big corporations to get your sales and money. That is how we survive and grow together. All of those pennies add up and make a difference. If we support the many and not the few we will change the world!
